NAB Show 2025: Redefining the Future of Media and Content Creation

By Mickey Miller, CEO, Vislink

The NAB Show 2025 in Las Vegas was a strong reminder of how quickly the broadcast industry continues to evolve. This year, we saw a powerful mix of innovation and practicality – tools and technologies designed not only to inspire but also to deliver real-world solutions for modern content creators.

From advancements in mobile connectivity to the rise of independent media voices, it’s clear the future of broadcast and live production is becoming more agile, flexible, and accessible. At Vislink, we’re proud to be playing a part in shaping this transformation.

A New Era for Independent Creators

One of the most compelling narratives at NAB 2025 was the continued growth of independent creators. With 386 million subscribers, MrBeast is a prime example of how accessible tech and platforms like YouTube have opened the doors to global influence – without the need for traditional media infrastructure.

This shift is about more than popularity – it’s about new models for content creation that are lean, scalable, and technology-driven. Creators now have access to professional-grade tools that were once out of reach, and that’s changing the rules for what’s possible in media production.

Streaming, Immersive Media, and the Rise of AI in Content Creation

NAB 2025 also highlighted major leaps in streaming technology, immersive AR/VR experiences, and AI-powered tools – each playing a key role in shaping the next generation of content creation.

Streaming platforms are now delivering ultra-low latency, higher reliability, and seamless scalability – making them suitable not only for entertainment but also for live sports, news, and enterprise applications. These rapid improvements are redefining what audiences expect in terms of content quality and experience.

AR and VR solutions have also matured significantly. From live events enhanced with augmented layers to fully immersive virtual sets, the creative possibilities are expanding rapidly. These tools are enabling more engaging and interactive viewer experiences – and they’re becoming more accessible to a broader range of production teams.

And perhaps most transformative: the rise of AI-driven content creation tools. From automated editing and real-time language translation to intelligent metadata tagging and virtual camera operation, AI is helping streamline production workflows and unlock new levels of creative efficiency.

The Role of Technology: Cloud, RF & 5G

Live production is evolving rapidly, driven by innovations in Remote Cloud Production, RF, and 5G/LTE video transmission with broadcasters increasingly using hybrid solutions depending on the environment.

RF remains essential for offering ultra-low latency, reliable 4K for the premier events. Meanwhile, 5G/LTE is evolving as an option where spectrum options exist.  A hybrid approach gives production teams the adaptability to ensure strong performance across diverse scenarios.

Remote Cloud Production is also transforming workflows by moving key processes off-site. This reduces the need for physical infrastructure, cuts costs, and enables real-time collaboration between teams in different locations – delivering faster, more efficient content creation.

Together, these technologies are empowering broadcasters to work more flexibly, efficiently, and at scale.

Partnerships Driving Real-World Solutions

At Vislink, collaboration is key to delivering meaningful solutions. We were proud to be featured in a number of key partnerships and joint technology showcases across the show floor.

Grass Valley demonstrated our INCAM-GV 5G transmitter with their LDX 100 Series cameras, supported by Acromove’s private 5G network – a great example of how tightly integrated systems can simplify and streamline live production workflows.

Motion Impossible displayed our CLIQ transmitter on their Agito robotic dolly, highlighting the potential for high-quality, low-latency video in dynamic camera movement scenarios.

At the Vislink booth, we hosted a live demonstration with CyanView, showing how our systems integrate to support multi-camera control workflows. This partnership reflects our ongoing focus on interoperability and workflow flexibility.

T-Mobile featured our LiveLink 5G/LTE bonded cellular transmitter on their booth and invited Michel Bais, Vislink’s Managing Director of 5G Services, to speak on the growing impact of private 5G networks in live broadcast production. The discussion emphasized how mobile networks are becoming an essential backbone for modern workflows.

Looking Ahead

What stood out at NAB 2025 was not just the volume of innovation, but how these technologies are being applied to solve real production challenges. The focus is shifting from future concepts to deployable tools that support more efficient, scalable, and creative storytelling.

At Vislink, we’re continuing to invest in the technologies and partnerships that help content creators and broadcasters stay ahead of the curve. NAB 2025 offered a valuable glimpse into where we’re headed – and we’re excited to keep building toward that future, together.

Thanks to all our partners, customers, and collaborators who made this year’s show a success. We’re looking forward to what’s next.
